On August 15, 2017, BugandaWatch received a new and positive update on the state affairs at Kasubi Royal Tombs. The email update reported that, after months of absence from Kasubi Royal Tombs, the site manager, Mr. Jonathan Nsubuga, recently visited the site. And, he paid the workers the arrears that had forced them to start focusing on personal businesses (See: Mengo takes good care of Abazaana in Kasubi but construction slows as workers start side businesses).

The update email says that, after paying the workers, Mr. Nsubuga told them how important it is for them to concentrate on the main reason why they are at Kasubi, which is the work to restore the royal tombs. The email continues,  “The workers are very happy with the money but they also question why Nsubuga lectured to them to concentrate on their work when he hid away for months, refusing to concentrate on his work of supervising and paying them.”
