On May 5, 2017, Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, popular commonly known as Bobi Wine or Omubanda wa Kabaka, was the chief guest at the change of leadership ceremony of Baganda Nkobazambogo Students Association (BANKOSA) chapter at Makerere University Business School (MUBS). The ceremony took place at the MUBS campus in Nakawa, Kyaddondo County.
During his speech, Bobi Wine told the students to take an active role in influencing the way Buganda Kingdom is governed today and the decisions which will affect its future. He urged them to stay well informed on current affairs in the kingdom because Buganda belongs to every Muganda and not to a small group of people.
“The joy of our Kabaka should be the joy of every Muganda and his sadness must affect every Muganda”, said Bobi Wine, a member the Mbogo (buffalo) Clan.
Omubanda wa Kabaka also advised youth to stand united in defending Kabaka and Buganda, even when they feel disappointed by some his appointees. He said, “We can’t burn the house just because it is dirty. We need to clean it instead.” Bobi Wine called on the youth to fight injustices in the Kingdom if they want to see the Buganda that they desire.
Mr. Edrine Sevvume of Kkobe Clan handed over the chapter chairmanship to Mr. Lawrence Jjumba of Nkima Clan.
The ceremony was also attended by current and former BANKOSA members and leaders from several chapters, members of Buganda scouts, other MUBS students and friends.
